Gamejam – kreatywność, współpraca i pasja do gier w jednym!

The University of Lodz Faculty of Physics and Applied Informatics hosted another edition of Gamejam, a game development marathon on 15 and 16 November 2024. Within 24 hours, teams of participants designed, created, and tested five games. Three of them were recognized by the committee as the best, and their creators took places on the podium.

What is Gamejam?
Gamejam is an intense challenge for creative teams whose goal is to create a game in a limited time. It is an opportunity to develop your skills in programming, graphics and design, as well as to meet other gaming enthusiasts. The event makes it possible for its participants to gain new experiences, creatively cooperate and have fun in an atmosphere of innovation.

The Gamejam's winning games

Table Bullet Evolution – 1st place
An action game in which the player fights hordes of enemies using magic forks. Projectiles fired from the forks bounce off walls and gain new features, making the gameplay dynamic and strategic. Overturned tables are obstacles for enemies and an additional surface to bounce projectiles off. The game delighted with advanced physics, visual effects and an original soundtrack.

Mirror Dash – 2nd place
A simple but addictive 2D split-screen game where players compete on a mirrored map. By collecting coins, a player can make their opponent's path more difficult. A game full of excitement and dynamic competition which is perfect for fast and intense games.

The Lost Table – 3rd place
A platform game in which the player sets out on a mission to find missing table legs. The key to success is to use a magic ball, capable of modifying the terrain and solving puzzles. Ghosts floating above the board steal balls, which requires the player to be quick-witted and strategic thinking.

We would like to thank all participants for their creativity and passion and congratulate the winners! Gamejam at the Faculty of Physics and Applied Informatics was a great opportunity to develop skills, establish contacts and have great fun.

See you at the next editions of Gamejam!
